Recruiting season has arrived at McGee, Hearne & Paiz, LLP (MHP) and this year has been extremely exceptional. "Meet the Firms" is an annual event, held on the University of Wyoming (UW) and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) campuses every fall, which allows students and firms to "get to know each other."  For UW, Meet the Firms is hosted by Beta Alpha Psi, the honorary accounting organization in the College of Business. Essentially, it is a career fair for accounting students that allows several accounting firms (both public accounting firms and private industry) from around Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska and even South Dakota to come and meet students. Students, dressed in business attire, walk around and talk with employers, sometimes giving out resumes and/or signing-up for interviews for both internships and full-time employment. "Meet the Firms is a great way to get on campus at the universities to meet and mingle with several different accounting students.  It is a perfect opportunity for us to highlight and showcase what MHP is all about and in return is a wonderful recruiting tool to find the best of the best to come work for us!" commented Tax Senior Associate, Rachel Bevans.

MHP participates with the hopes of recruiting new hires to continue the legacy that has been built over the years. Meet the Firms is also a perfect opportunity for us to showcase what MHP is all about. In return, it is a wonderful recruiting tool to find the best of the best to come work for us. Breanna Bredthauer, Audit Associate, says of the Meet the Firms event, "I think the UW Meet the Firms went really well for us, I feel like I talked to a lot of good candidates. It's also fun going to those events as a professional because we get to see some of our classmates that are now working at other firms, and past professors for those of us that went to UW. I enjoy going to Meet the Firms and telling potential candidates about MHP because it makes me remember why I chose to come work here and all the wonderful things about MHP that can sometimes get forgotten in the day-to-day grind (especially now, during busy season)."

Those who flourish at the on-campus interviews are invited to join us at the office in Cheyenne for a second interview. This year, a meet and greet event was held at Little America on October 6th for eight students and October 13th for seven more students. This event allows potential recruits to meet and socialize with MHP associates in a more relaxed atmosphere. In turn, it allows MHP associates to learn more about the recruits and evaluate what they may contribute to MHP. This event is followed by each recruit having dinner with a partner and a manager.

The following morning, the recruits gather at MHP for a continental breakfast and an office visit. There is a tour of MHP, various presentations concerning MHP's mission, vision and values; audit, tax and consulting tools and resources available; personal professional development; compensation, employee benefits, travel, quality control and advancement. The recruits also have lunch with tax and audit supervisors and associates in an effort to get a more rounded view of life at MHP.

After the day concludes, Partners and Managers hold a meeting to discuss the potential recruits and make decisions on offering positions. This season saw many exceptional candidates for work at MHP. Soon offers will be made and MHP will continue to grow, recruiting the BEST in the accounting world!
