Pat McGuire's Retirement
Pat McGuire, CPA has been a Partner at McGee, Hearne & Paiz, LLP since he and his partners acquired the office from McGladrey in 2000. He started his career in public accounting in 1971 when he joined our predecessor firm, Broeker Hendrickson & Co, in Rochester, MN for 8 years, McGladrey Hendrickson in Hibbing, MN for 4 years, McGladrey Hendrickson & Pullen in Indianapolis, IN for 2 years, and he joined the McGladrey Cheyenne office in 1985. Pat rose to the ranks of Partner in 1980 while with McGladrey.
Pat has served his firm well, he has a keen knowledge of technical accounting and auditing standards and also the ability to convey that knowledge to others. One of the distinctive parts of his job is serving as a technical reviewer for the Government Finance Officers Association Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting program where he performed reviews for other governmental entities throughout the country.
Pat's unique contribution to MHP's success has inspired others to emulate his care and concern for clients and employees. He has that amazing ability to listen, analyze, and act; he has taught the staff to be patient, research, and press forward with projects while overcoming any obstacles. The quality of MHP's final auditing products underscores the expertise that Pat has provided to the firm. He is, and will always be, an inspiration to us all - his door was always open and he was always game to join any crazy activity the office engaged in. Just this past April, he adorned a "Sumo Wrestler" outfit challenging his employees to a match. From flipping pancakes at CFD, to cheering on the UW Cowboys, to volunteering at the Friday Night Depot activities, Pat has become a big part of this community and loves Wyoming and all it has to offer.
Pat is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Wyoming Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Wyoming State Board of Certified Public Accountants, and he is a member of the Special Review Committee of the GFOA that awards Certificates of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. He has been involved in several civic organizations, including the American Cancer Society - Great West Division Board, and the Cheyenne Kiwanis Club.
Pat and his wife, Jan, plan to travel and spend time with their children and grandchildren. It's been said that there is a cabin by a lake in Minnesota that is calling his name. Might be time to bait the hook, relax, and reflect on a brilliant career that lead him from Minnesota to Wyoming.
He requests that you keep in touch!
