MHP goes for the Gold!
The thrill of victory; the agony of defeat…and da feet, da knees, da back, da arms…
In this Olympic year, McGee, Hearne & Paiz, LLP is fielding gold (maybe brass) medal teams in a number of sports.
Number crunching day in and day out can take a toll on accountants so, as a Firm, we encourage our staff to get out of the office and have some fun. Throughout the year, you can find our best and brightest letting off some steam on the volleyball and basketball courts or on the softball field. MHP always enthusiastically sponsors teams to participate in the City of Cheyenne Parks and Recreation Division leagues.
Over the years, MHP has sponsored the 'Itsy Bitsy Spikers', 'Net Worth', 'Slow Pitch Perfect', 'Old Hooligans', and our favorite incredibly creative team moniker, 'MHP'. Two women's volleyball teams entered the competitive arena this past season, 'Bump, Bump, Bump it Up' (might Audit Supervisor Laura Bump been on that team?) and 'Spikeological Warfare'. The two teams were in the same Division and played each other multiple times in what was coined as the MHP Battles. The Bump it Ups managed to eke out victories in the MHP Battles, but certainly never mention it to their Spikeological Warfare opponents.
MHP's basketball team is very early in its season. Their team motto is, "Blood, Sweat, and Tears", their team colors are black and blue, and their team scent is arthritis cream.
The MHP's women's softball team is legendary. A few years ago the competitive spirit was alive and well with the women of MHP and we had a lot of new faces sign up to play softball; many of whom had never played the game before. Victories that year came in the form of first catches and singles and doubles. Inexplicably, there were a lot of "retirements" after that season.
While we admit that we are better at number crunching than sports, we do have great fun when we get together, enjoying physical activity and teamwork on a different level. Go for the gold, MHP!!!
