Lynn Poss Passes Last Section of CPA Exam

May 1, 2017

Lynn Poss, an audit associate at McGee, Hearne & Paiz, LLP (MHP), recently passed the final section of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.

Lynn grew up on a farm/ranch in eastern Colorado outside of the small town of Hugo, about 100 miles east of Denver. Upon graduating from high school, she decided to attend the University of Wyoming (UW). Lynn enjoyed math and doing some bookkeeping for the family farm, so she decided to give accounting a shot. In just 4.5 years, she graduated with her Bachelors in Accounting and Bachelors in Ag Business.

During the summer before her last semester at UW, she took an internship with MHP. When speaking of her internship, Lynn said, "It was an amazing experience, and I had a full test drive of the real world and what my life as an accountant would look like." Lynn was offered a full time position upon the completion of her internship.

When asked why she decided to pursue the CPA certification, Lynn responded, "After spending all the time in school obtaining my accounting degree, I decided it would be silly to not get my CPA license. It sure wasn't easy, but boy was it worth it! Having the stress of the test lifted off my shoulders gives me an overwhelming amount of excitement."

Congratulations on this great accomplishment, Lynn!
