May 15, 2017

Cheyenne LEADS is a private, not-for-profit corporation serving as the economic development entity for the City of Cheyenne and Laramie County, Wyoming. Ken Dugas, Partner at McGee, Hearne and Paiz, LLP, has ended his term on the LEADS Board of Directors.

At its annual meeting on April 28, 2017, Cheyenne LEADS recognized Ken for his service on the LEADS Board. Ken joined the Board in 2010. Two years later Ken was elected to the Leadership Team as the Board Secretary and proceeded through the chairs, serving as the organization's Board Chairman in 2015-16.

Ken is a native of Cheyenne, graduating from St. Mary's School and then the University of Wyoming. He accepted a position with McGladrey Hendrickson & Co. in Cheyenne in 1981. Ken remained with the Firm through numerous name changes, helping to grow the Firm from 26 professionals in 1981 to over 80 professionals today.

Ken believes it is important to give back to the community he is a part of. In addition to serving on the LEADS Board, he is active in the Chamber of Commerce, his church and his profession, having served as the Board Chair for the Wyoming Society of CPAs. He has served the United Way of Laramie County as the Campaign Chair and Board Chair.  He is an active Kiwanian, having served as the Club's President in 1996-97. He is a graduate of Leadership Cheyenne. He was recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus of the University of Wyoming College of Business in 2007. He graduated from the McGladrey's Executive Leadership Development Program and is a supporter of leadership development at McGee, Hearne & Paiz, LLP (MHP).

Ken feels extremely honored to have had the opportunity to serve on the LEADS Board of Directors. Being a part of the LEADS organization during the recruitment of Microsoft, Magpul, the Sierra Trading Post expansion among the many other economic development successes we have realized, is something Ken will never forget being a part of. Ken is also happy that one of his peers and partners at MHP will continue the firm's strong support of LEADS. Brandy Marrou was elected to the LEADS Board at the annual meeting.
