Brenda Elliott Promoted to Partner

July 6, 2016

McGee, Hearne & Paiz, LLP is proud to announce the
promotion and admission of new Partner,
Brenda J. Elliott.

Brenda knew from an early age that she was destined to become an accountant.  After attending college at the University of South Dakota, Springfield for two years after high school, she worked as an accountant for a law firm and then for a CPA firm before moving to Wyoming in 1997.  Shortly after arriving, Brenda decided to go back to school to complete her degree.  She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Wyoming in 2001, took another semester to get her 150 hours, and sat for the CPA exam.  Brenda began her career at MHP in July, 2002 working as an auditor for more than five years before transferring to the Tax Department where she served as a senior tax manager.

Partner Ron Nimmo commented, "The Partners are extremely pleased to add Brenda to the partnership this year. She provides first-class service to MHP clients, always thinking about opportunities to help our clients succeed."

Training and mentoring staff and assisting them with their careers is a priority for Brenda. Jaime Liberty, one of our Tax Supervisors, shared, "Brenda has been invaluable to me. She has always gone above and beyond to help me achieve success in all areas of my professional career. She motivates me to do better and is a shining example of servant leadership and what hard work and determination can lead to. Brenda puts her clients and employees as her top priority; she works tirelessly to ensure that every issue is resolved appropriately."

Brenda is equally committed to contributing to the future of the profession. She was recently selected to serve as a member of the Wyoming Society of Certified Public Accountants Board of Trustees, and is excited to have a tangible role in promoting the profession, supporting accounting education, and offering its members opportunities to grow and lead.

Active in the community, Brenda serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Cheyenne, where she has served as Treasurer and is currently the Past President. In addition, she is a member of the Leadership Cheyenne Class of 2012 and serves on the Leadership Cheyenne Steering Committee for the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce.

Outside of the office, Brenda’s passion is her horses. She grew up around them and can’t imagine what life would be without them. She and her husband, Bob,have their own arena, and spend much of their free time polishing their team roping skills.
