Audit Manager Obtains CITP Credential
Andrew Roberts joined McGee, Hearne & Paiz, LLP in August of 2007 after graduating from college in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was excited and ready to return to Cheyenne after college and was happy to join the MHP team. Andrew already knew a few of the partners and employees at MHP so he was eager to work for MHP. Andrew began his career as an Audit Associate and now holds the title of Audit Manager.
Andrew has always had a passion for the IT area of auditing and this is why he was interested in obtaining his Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP). “I enjoy looking at systems and learning about various areas of the IT world. There is a steep learning curve as IT is always changing with new developments and technologies. Technology has changed the way we do everything in life and I think it would be hard to go back and give up technology,” said Andrew. According to the American Institute of CPAs, the Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) is a specialty designation that identifies CPAs with the unique ability to bridge between business and technology while meeting the strict requirements for a CPA license as well as additional training and experience in Emerging Trends, IT Assurance and Risk, Business Solutions, Data Analytics and Security and Privacy.
“Since joining MHP, Andrew has displayed a unique strength in information technology and an interest in pursuing this credential. Our need in this area has and will continue to grow. The Certified Information Technology Professional credential, from the AICPA, will be a valuable designation for professionals in our firm and will allow us to better serve our clients” comments, Ken Dugas, MHP partner.
Supporting and advocating for nonprofits is important to Andrew. He is passionate for the nonprofit, Grace for 2 Brothers and feels the organization is working very hard to change the stigma attached to suicide and depression. They provide awareness and support for survivors of suicide and those affected by suicide.
When Andrew is away from the office he likes spending time with his wife, Kristi and their two kids, Nik, age 7 and Katya, age 6. He also enjoys a round of golf when it’s nice and going to his cabin and snowmobiling in the winter time.
