MHP is thrilled to announce the following promotions. Each one of these individuals are an asset to our firm and have worked hard to achieve such respectable positions with the company. We deeply value all our employees working with us and are pleased to watch them excel at such great challenges.
Greg Vaughn joined MHP in January of 2008 after he graduated from the University of Wyoming. He was promoted to Manager in 2014 and Senior Manager in 2016. Greg is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Wyoming Society of CPAs. Greg provides advice, consulting, tax planning and return preparation on nearly all types of tax returns including, but not limited to: corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, gifts and non-profits. In addition to being a CPA, he has his Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA)designation.
Greg is active in our community. Currently, Greg is a board member for the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation, serving on the Investments Committee and Finance Committee and serves as the treasurer for the Cheyenne Kiwanis Foundation. He attends various Chamber events throughout the year and is a recent graduate of Leadership Cheyenne. He has also been an active volunteer for the United Way of Laramie County and Friendship Park.
Greg spent most of his childhood in Cheyenne and lived on F.E. Warren Air Force Base for most of that time. His wife, Lindsay, and their two young children enjoy taking in all that Cheyenne has to offer. You will regularly find them at the various parks in town and many social functions. Greg is an avid golfer. During the fall, you will find him closely following college football.
Jaime Liberty received her Bachelor degree in Accounting from Minot State University and joined the Firm in 2010. Jaime prepares and reviews all types of tax returns to make sure our high standard of accuracy is being met. She meets with clients to discuss their specific tax needs, providing tax planning to reduce their tax burden so they have more cash flow for their business. She also helps with the training and mentoring of the tax staff.
Jaime enjoys working in the accounting world, “I enjoy the complexity of the tax code. I enjoy solving puzzles on a daily basis and figuring out ways to help clients succeed in their business. I enjoy mentoring younger staff and getting to know them. The accounting world presents new challenges every day and no two days are the same.”
Outside of work, Jaime loves spending time with her husband, Keith and their daughter, Hannah. They love to explore the outdoors and watch movies as a family. “I feel honored to be a part of the Cheyenne community. It offers such a beautiful landscape and peaceful environment for me to work and spend time with my family.”
Josh Olson and Jacob Weisz Promoted to Tax Manager
Josh Olson began as an intern at MHP,graduated summa cum laude from the University of Wyoming, and joined the Firm in 2012. Josh prepares complicated S-Corporation, Corporation, Partnership, Individual, Trust and Not-for-Profit tax returns. He directs tax staff and reviews their work to ensure quality and accuracy is upheld. Researching tax issues in order to come up with suggestions for tax planning and potential tax savings are also among his specialties. He also counsels clients on tax problems and will work on their behalf with IRS issues. Josh has won many awards within the industry including the Wyoming Society of CPA’s Outstanding Junior Award in Accounting, Department of Accounting Outstanding Senior Award, College of Business Dean’s Award to Outstanding Seniors, College of Business M. Claire Mundell Outstanding Senior Award. “I enjoy preparing tax returns for our clients and finding ways to limit their tax bill. I thrive during the adrenaline rush of tax season and I love providing a high level of service to our clients.”
Josh is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Wyoming Society of Certified Public Accountants and a member of Laramie County Community College Business Advisory Committee.
In his free time, Josh can be found doing just about any outdoor activity: golf, hunting, fishing, camping and hiking, skiing, and spending quality time with family and friends. “I am a Cheyenne native and love this part of the country. In fact, I recently purchased a house near Carpenter, WY with 37 acres of land. I love watching the antelope, the peaceful sunsets, and everything else that comes along with living in the country.”
Jacob Weisz came to MHP from Laramie, Wyoming via the University of Wyoming where he earned degrees in Accounting and Computer Science. He started as an intern and joined the tax department in 2013, where he prepares and reviews tax returns, advising and assisting clients in various tax issues and planning. His specialties include businesses and the oil and gas industry. “Helping clients of all kinds with their unique tax scenarios, and being a part of a firm that is so involved and interlaced in the community is very rewarding.”
Jacob is a member of the AICPA, Wyoming Society of Certified Public Accountants, a member of Kiwanis International and Treasurer for the Kiwanis Foundation.
Outside of MHP, Jacob enjoys anything in the mountains – hiking, fly-fishing, bow-hunting, shooting and camping and spending time with his son. He also spends some of his free time brewing his own beer.
Conner Hunsaker was promoted to Senior Tax Associate. Conner is originally from Afton, Wyoming. He graduated from the University of Wyoming in the springs of 2016 and has been practicing public accounting since. Previously, Conner was an Accounting Intern at Star Valley Medical Center, an Accounting Aid at the University of Wyoming, Graduate Assistant for University of Wyoming Accounting Department, and Associate for a CPA firm in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and joined MHP in August, 2017.
Conner’s favorite part about working at MHP is the people and the culture. Having worked at a different accounting firm, he appreciates how awesome MHP is. He loves seeing the wide variety of clients and different tax situations and enjoys the opportunity to learn every single day.
Of his time outside of work, Conner says, “What I like to do and what I have time to do usually don’t overlap much. I still have two sections left on the CPA exam, so I find myself studying quite often. When I’m not studying, I love to fly fish and golf. I love spending time with my wife, Wendy and my two year old son, Griffin. Camping with them is especially fun. We also try to go to as many Wyoming Cowboys and Denver Broncos games we can each year.”
Rachel Bevan was promoted to Accounting Services Supervisor. Rachel is a graduate of the University of Wyoming where she earned her Bachelor’s in Accounting. After graduating, she did an internship with a public accounting firm in Laramie and became a part of MHP in 2014. Rachel works in the Accounting Services department and specializes in High Wealth and Trusts. Of working at MHP she says, “I love the people I work with and for – the work definitely challenges me and keeps work interesting!”
Outside of work, Rachel enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
